Sheriff's office responds to farm fatality

The Clay County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to 3785 130th Ave, in Everly, at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, where they discovered Everly farmer, Timothy Galm, 63, unconscious.

Authorities later pronounced Galm dead at the scene, and an investigation was conducted.

It was found that Galm had started his Farmall 460 tractor from a standing position inside of the right rear tractor tire, while it was in reverse. The tractor knocked Galm over and ran over him.

Funeral services for Galm will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Milford.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Everly Fire and Rescue personnel, the Spencer Ambulance, Clay County Medical Examiner and Warner Funeral Home of Spencer.
