An Emmetsburg man was cited following an accident at 2520 U.S. Highway 18, southeast of Spencer, Thursday evening.
Brad Burginger, 54, of Emmetsburg, was treated and released at the scene after the 1995 Mercury Sable (above) he was driving turned in front of a westbound 1999 Chevy K3500 truck (below), owned by Midstates Builders of Spencer.
Brad Burginger, 54, of Emmetsburg, was charged with failure to yield while making a left turn and no proof of insurance (accident related), when the 1995 Mercury Sable he was driving turned in front of a westbound 1999 Chevy K3500 truck, owned by Midstates Builders of Spencer.
Burginger was traveling east on Highway 18, and attempted to turn north into a residence, directly in the path of the westbound Chevy truck, driven by Micah Partlow, 19, of Spencer. Partlow's truck slammed into the passenger side of Burginger's Sable. Both vehicles spun 180 degrees before coming to rest on the north shoulder of the highway.
Burginger was treated and released at the scene by Spencer Ambulance personnel.
The Sable owned by Burginger sustained $1,500 in damages, and the truck received an estimated $5,000 in damages.
Clay County Sheriff's deputies were assisted on scene by Spencer Fire and Rescue, Dickens Fire and Rescue and Spencer Ambulance.
