Team roping competition draws large audience

Saturday, September 15, 2012

Local cowboys saddled up, grabbed their lassos and then teamed up to participate in Friday's popular team-roping competition conducted at the Horse Arena on the Clay County Fairgrounds. The teams must first lasso the calf around the horns, then capture both feet for the best possible time.

Could never figure out why they eliminated the rodeo at the fair. We always went and loved it. Used to go to the tractor pulls also but since they moved them to the track infield just not the same. Need binoculars to see them. Hope this new guy running the fair brings some things back to the way they were.
