Patricia Ann Lamberson, 66, passed away at 5:25 p.m. on Aug. 21, 2012, at her home in Macomb, Ill., following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on April 14, 1946, in Spencer, Ia., the daughter of Talmadge and LaVon Brownell Black.

She married Peter Lamberson in 1971.

She is survived by two daughters: Sarah Lamberson, of Los Angeles Calif., and Susan (Clinton) Lamberson-Singley of New Haven, Conn.; one son, Sgt. Scott Lamberson, of Manhattan ,Kansas; her mother, LaVon Black, of Spencer, Ia.; four sisters: Tamra ( Dennis) Gullickson of Fargo, N.D., Kathleen( Lawrence) Bame of Amherst, Mass., Mary(Steven) Niesen of Parkville, Mo., and Michelle( Michael) Davis of Sheldon, Ia.; three brothers: Jack ( Clara) Black of Primghar, Ia., Jon (Lori) Black of Spencer , Ia.; and Jay (Lori) Black, of Huxley, Ia.; one aunt, Marian Schwartz of Sun City, Ariz.; two uncles: Donald Brownell of Des Moines, Ia., and Rolland Brownell of Des Moines, Ia.; two sister-in-law's: Lois (Richard) Vrieze of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Linda Lamberson, of Aurora, Colo.; 10 cousins; 22 nieces; and nephews and 12 great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Talmadge William Black; her ex-husband, Peter Lamberson; her grandparents; one aunt, Francis Black; and two uncles: Kenneth and Donald Black.

Patricia was raised in Rossie, Ia. and received her Bachelors of Science Degree from Morningside College, in Sioux City, Ia. She then moved to Washington, D.C., working as a social worker with inner city youth. She later moved to Minooka, Ill. where she started her family. Patricia then moved to Macomb where she raised her family and served as the social services director at the Elms Nursing Home. She was extremely dedicated to her job, having worked there for more than 17 years. With her work in social services she has touched many lives.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Macomb, with the Rev. David Lafary and Rev. Dr. Howard White officiating. The family will meet with friends on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012 from 5-7 p.m., at the Wesley United Methodist Church. Interment of ashes will be held at the Riverside Cemetery Mausoleum in Spencer, Ia., at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012. Memorials may be made to the MDH Hospice Program or to the WIU Department of Social Work. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of the arrangements.
