CC-E approves cement bid

Tuesday, August 7, 2012

The Clay Central-Everly school board met on Monday night to discuss the cement bids to bring the buildings to AEA code.

The board approved Rossdale Construction, out of Storm Lake, for the project, at $39,732. Rossdale comes highly recommended, and the board believes that they'll get the project done by October, for the AEA site visit.

Nate Asmus and Abbee Gappa were hired as the junior high volleyball coaches. They will split the position: Abbee will cover practices and Nate will cover games.

"They're used to working together," superintendent Dennis McClain said. "They'll work well together here, also."

Amalie Saboe was hired as both the cheerleading coach and the dance team sponsor.

Doug Van Derwilt was hired as the assistant football coach.

"Doug and Austin (Davis -- high school football coach) worked together in basketball. I think they'll work well in football, too," McClain said.
