Alta-Aurelia got out to an early 3-0 lead on starter Brad Ripke in the bottom of the first. Three singles to start the game by Holden, Jalen Henningson and Neil Marshall came around to score. The Warriors would add two more runs in the third inning, one coming a ball that got behind left fielder Nick Wittmaack. The other scored on a wild pitch.
Sioux Central got two hits, both in the fifth inning, as Holden allowed just one runner to reach third base. Holden closed out the shutout by retiring the final seven Rebel batters.
