The Spencer softball team hung tough with Le Mars for five innings but fall apart after Emily Pick homered to begin the bottom of the fifth inning, losing 11-1 in six innings in the Class 4A Regional quarterfinal in Le Mars Saturday night.
Le Mars scored one run early and Spencer evened things in the third inning on an Alexa Allen double, which drove in Maddie Gould.
After Pick's home run to start the Bulldogs' fifth inning, four Tiger errors ensued which resulted in a 6-1 Le Mars lead.
The Tigers committed three more errors in the sixth inning to result in five more runs to end the game an inning early.
Taylor Anderson pitched for the Tigers and gave up four earned runs on six hits. She also recorded the Tigers only other hit, a double.
Molly Renken walked one and struck out five to earn the win for Le Mars, who advances to face Bishop Heelan in the Regional final on July 10 at Sioux City West at 7 p.m.
"It was a tale of two games," Spencer coach Greg Jones said. "We couldn't have played much better in the first five innings, it was anybody's game. ... But basically the wheels fell off."
The Tigers (13-17) finished the game with eight errors.
