Myrl Allen Olson, a resident of Terril, Ia., was born Sept. 27, 1922, in Eshterville, Ia. He was the son of Leon and Helen Olson. He departed this life Sunday, Aug.14, 2011, at the home of his son in Huntsville, Ark. at the age of 88.

The family of Myrl Olson would like to invite you to share in the celebration of Myrl's life.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. July 7, 2012, at Union Memorial Church in Milford. Graveside military honors to follow at Terril Cemetery. All are invited to the family farm, 2882 220th St., Terril, after the services.

Myrl served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a B-24 pilot during WWII and retired from farming in 1983. He enjoyed spending winters in Arizona, playing cards with family and friends, and traveling throughout the world.

In 1943 he married his first wife, Betty, who passed away in 1955; and in 1956, he was united in marriage to Esther, who died in 2008.

Myrl is survived by four children: David Olson, of Central City, Ia., Gary Olson of Bryant, Ia., Douglas Olson, of Huntsville, Ark., and Janice Adams, of Bakersfield, Calif.; one brother, Dick, of Terril, Ia.; one sister, Betty Stellmach, of Milford, Ia.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
