Entertainers of all ages and talents are welcome and encouraged to apply. However, all performances must be family-oriented and appropriate for fairgoers of all ages.
"One of our goals at the fair is to involve as many people as possible and to give them an opportunity to showcase their best," fair manager Jeremy Parsons said. "Giving some of our local entertainers the chance to showcase at the Fair definitely meets those goals."
To allow adequate tear-down and set-up between acts, performances will be limited to 45 minutes. The fair will provide limited sound equipment and a sound technician. No dressing rooms or storage spaces are available.
These performances are meant for artist experience and exposure. No act will receive financial benefits or payment from the Clay County Fair.
"I know we have many talented people in our area," Parsons said. "I hope they take advantage of the opportunity to perform for our fairgoers."
Applications are due July 25, and can be found at www.claycountyfair.com. Entertainers are encouraged to send promotional materials with their applications. For more information, contact the Clay County Fair at 262-4740, or email email@example.com.
