The Rebel baseball team has won four in a row, and eight of their last nine, to improve to 13-4 on the season after wins over South Central Calhoun on Monday and Emmetsburg on Tuesday.

Sioux Central beat South Central Calhoun, 6-2, Monday night in Peterson behind Nick Wittmaack's 10-strikeout performance. The senior pitched six innings and allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits and walked three. Brad Ripke threw a scoreless seventh.

The Rebels picked up six hits and drew six walks, which allowed them to steal nine bases in a game where they scored three runs in the fifth to take the lead for good. Wittmaack, Mickenzie Nelson and Colin Swanson all had two hits.

On Tuesday night, the Rebels traveled to face Emmetsburg in a non-conference match-up, which they won, 5-3.

Swanson drove in three runs with a double in the top of the third, which would be enough to get the win. Wittmaack was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases.

Bobby Rushton earned the complete-game win after allowing three runs (all earned) on four hits and three walks, while striking out five.

Sioux Central collected just four hits off freshman pitcher Luke Jackson, but it was enough to continue the Rebels' win streak.
