The Sioux Central softball put up two runs in the bottom of the first but the lead wouldn't hold, and the runs stopped coming, as the Rebels lost a Twin Lakes game, 7-2, to Prairie Valley Wednesday night in Peterson.

Chandler Johannsen doubled in the first and was driven in on a single by Hallie Ehlers to give the Rebels an early lead. Prairie Valley would gain the lead in the top of the third off Sioux Central start Lanae Shiley with four runs. The Warriors would add a run in the fourth, fifth and seventh to win the game, 7-2.

The loss drops the Rebels to 2-11 on the year. Sioux Central picked up its season's first win on Friday, June 8, at home versus Manson NW Webster, 15-6. The Rebels collected 17 hits and stole 18 bases in the win.

They beat South O'Brien on Saturday, 13-3, for their second win of the season at a tournament in Paullina, where they also lost to Ridge View, 9-5.

Sioux Central fell to Pocahontas Area Monday night, 15-5, in five innings. Natalie Jensen was 2-for-2 with two runs scored, a double, an RBI and two stolen bases. Shiley picked up all the decisions, except for the loss to Ridge View, which was taken by Gloria Jensen.

Sioux Central's game at Le Mars today (Thursday) has been cancelled according to the school's calendar. The Rebels will play at Southeast Webster in Harcourt on Friday evening.
