All Day - Art in Bloom

*Members of the Clay County Garden Club will make flower arrangements to complement the artwork on exhibit at Arts on Grand. For more information call Doris Ginger at 262-2484. Sponsored by Clay County Garden Club.

7 a.m. - KICD, CD 107.7 and Lite 104.9 Tractor Ride

*Tractor riders depart west on 18th Street.

8 a.m. - Second Annual Run for the Son

*The Second Annual Run for the Son - a 10K/5K walk/run hosted by the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. Prizes awarded for first, second and third places. A children's 12 and under one -mile run will also be held. For information contact Josie Hough at 580-3132 or Kris McDermott at 262-3707.

11 a.m. - Flagfest Parade

*Parade route for this year will be from the Clay County Fairgrounds gate C, east on West 14th Street, south on Grand Avenue, west on West Fourth Street to Third Avenue. Sponsored by Black Hills Energy and Pizza Ranch. Line-up begins at 8 a.m. at the Clay County Fairgrounds east gate.

11 a.m. to 11 p.m. - Concession Area

*East Seventh Street. Vendors will be present with ice cream, smoothies, mini donuts, root beer floats and much more.

1 p.m.-4 p.m. - Brandon Dale Artist Development - Entertainers

*Stage at Seventh Street East and First Avenue East. Bring your own lawn chairs and come for a fun-filled afternoon of music from the future stars of America.

1-5 p.m. - Family Amusements

*East Seventh Street and First Avenue East. Inflatables for all ages. Sponsored by the Spencer Rotary Club.

1-5 p.m. - Smiley Face Train

*East Seventh Street and First Avenue East. Ten car miniature train designed just for kids. Free rides. Sponsored by KICD, CD 107.7 and Lite 104.9

Petting Zoo
1-5 p.m. - Petting Zoo

*Spencer Administration Building Parking Lot. Free interactive petting zoo for children of all ages. Organized by members of the SHS FFA chapter and Brad Smith's Cabin Fever Farm. Sponsored by Community State Bank and Insurance.

1-5 p.m. - Hand Washing Stations

*East Seventh Street and First Avenue East. Providing hand washing stations for use throughout the afternoon. Sponsored by JCL Solutions - Janitor's Closet.

3 p.m. - Spencer Daybreaker Kiwanis Toy Duck Race

*Spencer Administration Building Parking Lot. Toy ducks are released into a pool and retrieved at random. Numbered ducks are pulled form the pool and winning numbers win prizes sponsored by participating merchants. Tickets are available from Daybreaker Kiwanis members. For information call Terry at 580-2946.

6-10 p.m. - Grand Cruise

*Grand Avenue. Everyone can bring their old hot rods, classics, muscle cars, antiques and more to cruise and park on Grand Avenue. Listen to good old Rock & Roll music and visit with friends. Sponsored by Old Iron Company. For information go to www.oldironcompany.com.

7 p.m.-Midnight - Festival Garden

*Parking Lot East Seventh Street and First Avenue East. What a great way to enjoy a lovely summer evening. A social event to meet your neighbors and friends. Sponsored by Sneaker's Sports Lounge.

8 p.m. - Midnight - Flagfest Street Dance

*Parking Lot East Seventh Street and First Avenue East. The Flagfest Committee is excited to bring back a street dance during Flagfest. Admission to the street dance is free. The Expressions will be providing the music. For the last 45 years or so, this band of roving minstrels have been performing their versions of popular hits from the early rock-n-roll days of the 1950s to some of the latest hits of today. Hardly a small town dance hall, pub or community hall exists in northwest Iowa that this band has not had the opportunity to perform in. The Expressions are a member of the Iowa Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Sponsored by Farmers Trust & Savings Bank.

1 p.m. - Spencer Municipal Band

Spencer Municipal Band
*Come out and relax while listening to the Spencer Municipal Band at the Spencer Bandshell at East Leach Park. Bring your lawn chair and relax to the wonderful music.
