Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2012, at the Sauk Centre United Methodist Church with Rev. Marianne Ozanne officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Meadow Township, Ia.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Margaret Lucille Krukow was born Oct. 7, 1924, in Graettinger, Ia., to Max and Mary (Mertens) Krukow. She attended school in Ruthven, Ia. Margaret was employed by J.C. Penney in Spencer for over 20 years. On Dec. 18, 1940, she married Arthur Peterson in Fairmont, Minn. The couple resided in Spencer from 1945 until 1991 when they relocated to Sauk Centre. Margaret spent her winters in Apache Junction, Ariz., for 17 years. She enjoyed crocheting, working jig saw puzzles, playing games with her friends in Arizona, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Margaret was a member of Sauk Centre United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children: Leonard Peterson of Sartell, and Mary Jo (Richard) Vanderhoff of Sauk Centre; four grandchildren: Corey (Vicki) Vanderhoff, Kevin (Cathy) Vanderhoff, Kimberly Peterson and Scott (Stephanie) Peterson; and seven great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "Art" Peterson on Sept. 26, 2002; daughter, Diane Peterson on Aug. 16, 1991; parents; brothers: Julius, Art, Orville, Kenneth and Donald Krukow; and sisters: Florence Stukey and Dorothy Johnson.
Serving as casket bearers will be Corey Vanderhoff, Kevin Vanderhoff, Nolan Vanderhoff, Jaden Vanderhoff, Randy Krukow and Ed Stukey.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
