Final 2011-12 performance: 'Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash'

"Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash" takes the SCT stage for three weekends of performances, as the final 2011-12 main stage production from April 27 to May 12.

The tunes of the "Man in Black" ignite the stage in the SCT premiere of Ring of Fire. Experience the music of legendary Johnny Cash in this revue that features more than three dozen of the singer's best-loved songs to describe the journey of a man in search of his soul.

Sarah Jans Andresen and Melisa Wallace co-direct the musical, with Theresa Ortman serving as music director. The ensemble cast includes Daniel Andresen, Dean Garner, Katie Hughes, Dave Jacobson, Jean Johnson, Barb Larson, Katrina Obermeier, Myra Currans Partridge, Rosie Shaughnessy, and John Wallace. The band includes Larry Sattler (guitar), Joe Johnson (bass), Temi Otaniyi (drums), Theresa Ortman (piano), and Jessica Jans (keyboard II).

One of the "best 'jukebox' musicals of all time," Ring of Fire includes such hits as: "I Walk the Line," "Jackson," "I've Been Everywhere," "Folsom Prison Blues," "A Boy Named Sue," and the title track, "Ring of Fire."

Nearly a decade after his passing, Johnny Cash remains one of the most popular entertainers of all time. His success is incomparable- 11 Grammy Awards (including the 1989 Lifetime Achievement Grammy), inductions into the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock Music Hall of Fame, and a Kennedy Center Honor. He has placed 48 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop charts and over 130 hits on the Billboard Country singles chart- more than anyone in history. His autobiography, "Man in Black" has sold approximately 1.5 million copies, and the official Johnny Cash website receives over 9 million hits per day.
