Karen Jones Schutt will be at the library on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Karen Jones Schutt, author of "The Callie Stories," will be featured at Spencer Public Library at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Schutt's "The Callie Stories" is the current selection for the All Spencer Reads program at the library. The former Primghar resident will divide her time at the library talking about the book and visiting with those attending.

All Spencer Reads, in its first year, is a program geared towards encouraging book-related dialogue and fostering a community identity. "The Callie Stories," set in 1940s northwest Iowa, was chosen to help the community open up about childhood experiences in the region.

The library has copies of the book and reading guides for those interested. It has planned two events corresponding with the book. The first was the "Caring for your Family Photos" workshop by Robin Munson. Schutt's visit will be the second.
