Funeral services for Marilyn Mugge, 87, of Everly and Mesa, Ariz., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the United Methodist Church in Everly. Rev. Jo Watkins will officiate the service.
Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Marilyn passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, in Mesa.
Marilyn Marie Mugge, the daughter of Andrew and Marie (Anglum) Mann, was born Sept. 3, 1924, in Storm Lake. Her childhood years were spent with her grandmother, Jesse Smith in Spencer, where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School in 1942.
Marilyn married Robert (Bob) Mugge on Dec. 5, 1943, at the First Congregational Church in Spencer. Following their marriage the lived in the Rossie and Everly areas until 1981 when they moved to Mesa, Ariz. Since then, Marilyn spent six months in Arizona and six months in Everly. Throughout the years she was active in her church, in 4-H, Farm Bureau and Federated Women's Club. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading and playing Bridge. She especially loved her church and going to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her grandmother; her parents; her husband, Bob, in 2007; and her sisters: Jeanne Geisinger and Carol Knudtson.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Barbara and her husband, Jerry Dudeck, of Mesa, Ariz., Kathryn and her husband, Tom Goeken, of Everly; and Robin Mugge, of Spirit Lake; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Marilyn's name.
