Clayton Stoddard, 89, a much beloved uncle and friend, passed away Feb. 3, 2012, at the Spencer Memorial Hospital, Spencer, Ia. Clayton served in the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1946. In 1941 he and Marjorie Blanford were married in Aurora, Ill. Marjorie passed away in August 1999. Clayton served as a USPS letter carrier from 1953 until 1988. He and Marjorie owned a home at 902 Douglas Ave., Aurora, for 40 years. He is survived by six nieces and two nephews: Janice Funk, Humboldt, Ia., Sharon Stoddard, Blaine, Minn., Mike Stoddard, Bloomington, Minn., Sandy Garlough, Sparta, Wis., and Linda Wolfe, Beckley, W.V,, Mike Renner, Brookhaven, Miss., Pam Sikorski, Lewisville, Miss., and Leah Nelson, Montgomery, Ill.
He was preceded in death by both parents and three brothers. Memorial contributions will be given to The Northshire Residences, Spencer, Ia.
Lying in state Friday Feb. 10, 2012, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 85 South Constitution, Aurora, Ill. Interment St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery Montgomery, Ill.
