Twenty-five dads will entertain Tuesday night, during halftime of both Spencer boys and girls basketball games, at the Spencer Fieldhouse.

The Tiger Pas return to the hardwood to showcase their dance skills, learned over the past two months, under the watchful eye of Tammy Higgins.

Higgins, choreographer for the daddy dance team, and executive director of the Spencer Community School Foundation, said her squad is ready to go.

"They are so ready," Higgins stressed. "Everybody's holding up. They've already been invited to perform at The Strutters event on March 15 (at the Fieldhouse)."

The Tiger Pa's t-shirt sums up what the team does and who they are.
Higgins said this year's theme will be of a western nature - with a twist - and will include participation from Spencer High School dance squad, The Strutters.

The coach noted the split of newcomers to veterans on the dance unit is nearly 50/50.

"There's quite a few back, but there are also a few new ones. Some have taken a little break, but have come back now," Higgins said.

The performance is part of the annual Spencer Community School Foundation Fun Night. In addition to the entertainment, free beads will be handed out prior to the games.

A meal will also be served from 5-7:30 p.m. in the high school student center. The dinner will feature a pork loin sandwich, cheesy potatoes, cole slaw, bar and a drink.

Tickets are available from the SHS Dance Team members or Spencer School's Central Office.

Tammy Higgins would like to thank initial matching gift sponsors Farmers Trust and Savings Bank, Community State Bank and Insurance, State Bank of Spencer, Johnston Auto Stores, Consumers Lumber of Spencer and Spirit Lake, Midstates Builders and Nolin Milling Inc. for their support of the event and the foundation.
