The only way that Bixby knows how to save the rainforest is by packing it up in a crate for preservation. He will unpack the crate for two appearances, Saturday and Sunday, at the Clay County Regional Events Center, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

Bixby will interact with his friend Treetop, a singing toucan; to look at ways families can help save the rainforest. Families will learn the value of conservation and basic things they can do to save not just the rainforest, but also the environment in which we live.

Using magic, comedy, audience participation, and a menagerie of antic animals, Bixby's Rainforest Rescue offers an entertaining learning experience.

As a child, Bixby loved going to the museum, especially children's museums. He loved the fact that he could explore so many subjects, animals, planets, and time periods all under one roof, but the one thing he disliked about museums was the "Do Not Touch" signs posted everywhere. He learned through experience and interactive involvement, and he believed other children did as well.

Bixby promised himself that when he grew up, he would build a museum where children could not only touch and explore the exhibits with hands-on, interactive involvement, but that he himself would harness the magic inside him to bring exhibits to life so that, as their tour guide, he could take children on a magical journey directly into the exhibit.

Tickets are good for the entire day and include: Unlimited play on all inflatable rainforest bounces, slides, mazes and obstacles course; access to rainforest activities, the stage show performing multiple times daily, the Dream Train Parade which will be performed multiple times daily, exotic animals and meet and greets with Bixby and Friends characters.

Children under the age of 2 are free. Tickets are $9 at the door. Coupons, for $2 off, are available at Hy-Vee and other locations in Spencer.
