Elizabeth Ann Frank

Elizabeth Ann Frank passed away on Jan. 23, 2012, in Cedar Falls, Ia. She was born Dec. 17, 1923, to John and Hilda (Wettergren) Frank.

She was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal, Ia. and later at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls, Ia. Elizabeth graduated from Royal High School in 1940 and went on to get her teaching degree from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Ia. She was a longtime elementary teacher in Royal, Sibley and Spencer.

After retiring from teaching she moved to Cedar Falls. Elizabeth will always be remembered for her love of family, friends, music and literature. She became well known for her poetry writing which she wrote for family and her friends at Glen Meadow and Glen Arbor Lutheran Home.

Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Wanda (Ray) Bliss of Seguin, Texas; 13 nieces and nephews; 28 great-nieces and nephews; and 29 great-great-nieces and nephews; as well as many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two sisters: Marjorie (Carl) Larson and Eleanor (Herman) Petersen; and two nephews: Bernard Carl Larson and Russell Frank Petersen.

A memorial service will be held at Lutheran Nursing Home Chapel in Cedar Falls, Ia. at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2012. Private interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, New Aldaya (Lutheran Home) or charity of your choice.
