Mark Husaboe and his family were returning home from a trip into town Monday evening, and found their home at 951 N. River Rd., northwest of Sioux Rapids, in flames.

Sioux Rapids firefighters and Buena Vista County deputies were alerted by 911 call shortly before 8 p.m., but found the home already fully engulfed when they arrived. The Sioux Rapids Fire Department called for assistance from Peterson, Rembrandt and Webb departments to help bring the blaze under control.

There were no injuries, and damages could reach $100,000.

The sheriff and fire departments are continuing an investigation into the cause of the blaze.
