A check on a Dickinson County arrest warrant resulted in two arrests shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office conducted the warrant search at 928 S. Grand Ave. Apt. 8, in Spencer, for Gary Harvey Stinson, 30. The warrant was for failure to appear in court on the original charge of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana.
Upon making contact with Stinson, marijuana was observed in the residence. Stinson was place under arrest and transported to the Clay County Jail without incident. Deputies made contact with Stinson's girlfriend, Cara Anderson, 20, in the residence and she was placed under arrest and transported to the Clay County Jail without incident.
The sheriff's deputies secured the apartment and applied for a search warrant which was granted.
Upon execution of the search warrant, marijuana, prescription pills and numerous drug paraphernalia items were seized.
Stinson was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Anderson was charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Stinson was held on a $5,000 cash or surety bond with an additional $1,000 cash or surety bond for the arrest warrant. Anderson was held on a $1,000 cash or surety bond.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Spencer Police Department.
