James and Ethel Mastin

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25, for Mr. and Mrs. James and Ethel Mastin, of Caraway, Ark., at the Caraway Cemetery located at County Road 849 (off of Highway135), under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Caraway.

Ethel Inez Mastin was born Sept. 10, 1939, and passed away Oct. 24, 2011, after a head injury sustained at home. James "Jim" Buster Mastin was born Dec. 20, 1936, and passed away Oct. 28, 2011, after a brave battle with multiple myeloma.

Inez was born in Caraway, Ar. Jim was born in Corydon, IA. Jim and Inez met in Dallas, TX and were married for 53 years.

After a distinguished career in the Marine Corps, which included two tours of duty serving our Country in Vietnam and receiving multiple distinguished honors and awards, Jim and his family retired to Caraway. After being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, Jim worked for many years as an auto mechanic for Chevrolet in Marked Tree. Inez raised her two children,James Lawrence and Jessie Bryan, and worked for many years at Basler Electric in Caraway. Inez had a great love for nature and education instilling these passions in her children and grandchildren.

Jim and Inez leave behind their two children James Lawrence and Jessie Bryan; four loving grandchildren Jared, Rachel, Devon, and David; daughters-in-law Kelly and Cheryl; Jim's brother and sister, Terry and Pat, sisters-in-law Ann and Sue and numerous nieces and nephews. They also leave behind very good friends in Storm Lake, IA, and throughout Arkansas.

The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Bernards Hospital and the staff at St. Bernards Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time. The family would also like to thank the many family members and friends throughout the United States and abroad for all of their loving support, thoughts, and prayers.
