Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Krager, 93, of Spencer, formerly of Peterson, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at United Methodist Church in Peterson. Rev. Kim Dewey and Rev. Esta M. Fraley will officiate the service.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Peterson.
Mrs. Krager passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer.
Helen Marie Krager, the daughter of Marinus Anton and Margrethe Gertie Lauridsen Nielsen, was born Sept. 1, 1917, in Royal, Ia. It was there she attended school and graduated in 1934. She attended A.I.B. in Des Moines and later worked at the A.S.C.S. office in Spencer.
She married Gus Krager on April 19, 1968, in Spencer, Ia. They made their home in Peterson until moving to Spencer in 1993. While living in Peterson, Helen was involved with O.A.O Club and a active member of the United Methodist Church. Helen loved spending time with her family and later years, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gus on Aug. 8, 1994; and three brothers: Harry, Herb and Arnold.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: daughter, Judith and her husband, Richard Knudsen of Dickens, Ia. and son, Bert Adams and his wife, Georgia of Spencer, Ia.; two step-children: Linda and her husband, Neil Williams of Henderson, Nevada and Ronald and Shamon Krager of Peterson, Ia.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
