Services for Rebecca L. Halder will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at United Methodist Church in Ruthven. Rev. Roger Maize will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ruthven.

Rebecca Louise Halder, daughter of Leo Norman and Maxine (Michael) Hansen, was born Jan. 14, 1960, in Emmetsburg, Ia. She attended school at South Clay, graduating in 1978. Following high school, Becky attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D. and Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge.

On Oct. 26, 1985, Becky was united in marriage to Donald Halder at the United Methodist Church in Ruthven. To this union two children were born.

Becky has been employed as a Dental Hygienist for Fox, Boyd, Sailer and Shriver Dental Office in Spencer for the past 27 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ruthven where she was active with the youth group and directing the puppet ministry. Becky also served on the United Methodist Church board. She was active in the music parents organization at the Ruthven-Ayrshire Community School.

Becky passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at the Palo Alto County Hospital in at the age of 51. She continued her legacy of caring for others by being an organ donor.

Becky was preceded in death by her father, Leo Hansen; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Margaret and Fabian Halder.

She is survived by her husband, Don of Ruthven, Ia.; her children: Trevor Alan Halder and Liana Marie Halder of Ruthven, Ia.; her mother, Maxine Hansen and Gilson Riecke of Ruthven, Ia.; a brother, Dennis Hansen of Ruthven, Ia.; a sister, Cindy Essick and her husband, Russ of Spencer, Ia.; and nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Martin-Mattice Funeral Home.
