Mrs. Baker passed way Thursday, June 23, 2011, at the Stow-Glen Retirement Village, where she had lived for the last 12 years of her life. Previously, Louise had resided in San Diego, Calif. for 45 years.
Louise lovingly cared for her husband and family. Her home was the centerpiece of her life's work, and she quietly set an example to others of her steadfast Christian faith.
She enjoyed traveling with loved ones and was thrilled to visit fellow descendants in Sweden, where her parents Anders Gustaf Carlsson and Amelia Clara Magnusson lived before emigrating to America, settling in Lincoln Township, Clay County of northwest Iowa.
Her husband, Orlyn R. Baker, preceded her in death. They were married for 50 wonderful years.
Left to celebrate Louise's extraordinary life are twin daughters Coleen (Baker) Muth of Swansboro, N.C., and Connie (Baker) Mamas and son-in-law William Mamas of Hudson, Ohio, granddaughters Melinda Muth (May) and husband Matthew May, Elizabeth (Muth) Stojanowski and husband Christopher Stojanowski, Brenda (Mamas) Walsh and husband Brian Walsh, grandsons Troy Mamas and Brian Mamas, great-grandsons Ethan Stojanowski, Liam Walsh and Conor Walsh and great-granddaughter Eowyn Stojanowski.
