Funeral services for Delores McHugh, 79, of Spencer will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2011, at Warner Chapel in Spencer. Rev. Michael Sharp will officiate the service.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.
Mrs. McHugh passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer.
Delores Jean McHugh, the daughter of Wesley A. and Genevieve (Plaine) Louter, was born Jan. 21, 1932, in Spencer, Ia. Her childhood years were spent in Spencer, where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School. She worked at several businesses in Spencer including: Carroll's Bakery, Super Valu and the Arcade Café, before going to work at the Spencer Theatre.
Delores married Delbert McHugh on Sept. 7, 1958, in Spencer, Ia. Following their marriage, they continued to operate the Spencer Theatre for several years, until their retirement in 1970. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Spencer.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Del on Oct. 27, 1990.
Left to cherish her memory are her three sisters: Helen Louter of Weslaco, Texas, Marjorie Guerttman of Spencer and Lillian Meyer of Waukee, Ia.; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Warner Funeral Home in Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
