Services for Berneta R. Pauls will be held at noon Saturday June 11, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ostrander with the Rev. Rolf Wangberg officiating.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Berneta R Pauls, age 86, of Ostrander died Thursday June 2, 2011, at her home.

Berneta was born to Charley and Arlena Lenhart/Haye in Moneta, Ia. She was the youngest of their six daughters, growing up in and around the Moneta and Hartley, Ia. area. She attended school through the eighth grade and was united to Bernard Pauls on Oct. 15, 1943, in Sioux City, Neb. Together they had four children: Roger, Dona, and twins, Jane and Joan.

After their marriage Bernard and Berneta moved to the Ostrander, Minn. area in 1957. Berneta was an American Legion Auxiliary member for 34 years and an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. During her life Berneta worked at the Ben Franklin and Anthony's Department Store in Spring Valley for 15 years. She also worked for LeRoy Products Company in LeRoy, Minn., retiring after 20 years.

She enjoyed the outdoors through gardening, extensive travel in the US and wintering in Arizona. She also enjoyed indoor activities of a homemaker; sewing, cooking, baking and crocheting for her family.

Berneta is survived by her husband, Bernard of Ostrander; her children: Roger L. Pauls and wife, Linda of Sun City, Ariz., Dona L. Pauls-Back and husband, Larry of Red Wing, and Jane A. Pauls-Quade and husband, David of Red Wing; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Joan A. Pauls-Ness; one grandson; and five sisters.
