Loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Rita Rogers was born in Spencer, Ia. on Sept. 6, 1935, to Sylvester Kindlespire and Mildred Lawler Kindlespire.

Rita attended the University of Iowa, and, on June 30, 1956, married her high school sweetheart, Gary Rogers. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2006. She worked at Kjos Music Company in San Diego for 23 years, retiring in 2000.

Rita had an energetic, fun‐filled personality and an infectious smile that endeared her to family and friends alike. She and Gary traveled back to Lake Okoboji as often as possible. Rita passed into glory at noon on May 18, 2011, surrounded by her family who sang hymns, prayed, read Scripture passages and told her how much she was loved. The sun was shining into her room after a morning rain.

Rita is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gary Rogers; three sons: Kyle, Kirk and Kelly; daughters‐in‐law, Mariana, Carol and Liz; grandchildren: Michael, Maggie, Katie, Cameron, Abby and Carly; and numerous relatives and friends

A memorial celebrating Rita's life was held on May 27, in San Diego. Her committal will take place at Riverside Cemetery on Thursday, June 2, at 11 a.m.
