Florence Margaret Brock, the daughter of Henry Peter Andrew and Anchen (Anna) Mohlenbrock Heldt, was born Jan. 14, 1922, in Terril, Ia. Her childhood years were spent in Terril, where she received her education, graduating from Terril High School in 1939.

Following high school, she worked in the Terril Drug Store, which is where she met her future husband. Florence married Bert Herman Brock on June 5, 1947, in Terril. Following their marriage they farmed near Milford, Ia. from 1950-1960. Florence and her husband then operated the gas station in Everly, Iowa from 1960-1965. During her life she dedicated herself to her family. After marriage, both Florence's mother and grandmother lived with Florence and her husband until their respective deaths. Her hobbies were crafts, sewing, baking, gardening, and canning delicious homegrown foods. In addition, Florence was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Everly where she served on the Altar Committee.

After her husband's death in 1998 she moved to Spencer and lived at Bee Hive Homes, and later to St. Luke's Lutheran Homes and Services until her death on April 27, 2011.
