Freida Chidester Hunter Kuiper Adle

Freida Val Chidester was born to Frederick Ellsworth and Gertrude (Unger) Chidester in Kentland, Ind. She attended DePauw university and Lafayette Business College. In 1932 she married C. Keith Hunter a recent graduate of Purdue's School of Pharmacy. They soon purchased a drug store in Lowell, Ind. (Freida's parents gave them a soda fountain for their wedding present).

A son, James Rondal, was born in 1938, a daughter, Mary Lynn in 1942. In 1947 they moved to Lincoln, Ill. where they purchased another store. In 1951 Keith, 44, died of a cerebral hemorrhage. Freida and children moved to Valparaiso, Ind. to be near her sister, Dorisann Wetmore.

In June of 1953 She married Christ Kuiper and returned to Lowell. They soon began wintering in Florida, moving there permanently in the 1960's, joining the Jensen Beach Baptist Church where she served as church secretary and organist for a decade.

Widowed again in 1974, she married C. Rees Adle of Flint, Mich. in April of 1976. Upon his death in 2005, she moved to Albuquerque, N.M. to be near son, Ron and wife, Joy.

Church and it's music was an integral part of her life as well as travel, including a round-the-world trip in 1970.

Frieda was preceded in death by three husbands; her parents; sisters: Celesta in 1918, and Doris Ann in 2006; and grandson, Paul Keith Swan in 1975. She is survived by her son, Ron (Joy) Hunter of Albuquerque; daughter, Lynn (Robert) Swan of Dickens, Ia.; step-daughter, Doris Kuiper of Gunnison, Colo.; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held in Albuquerque Feb. 8, 2011.
