Funeral services for Mrs. Marguerite Winthers, 89, of Spencer, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Warner Chapel in Spencer. Rev. Russell Muilenburg will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer.

Mrs. Winthers passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Spencer Hospital.

Marguerite "Daisy" Mae Winthers, the daughter of Fred and Madeline Rushinberg Loehr, was born April 20, 1921, in Harlan. Daisy received her early education and graduated from the Kirkman High School in 1939. She then attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake.

Daisy married Raymond Sherman Winthers on November 17, 1941, in Papillion, Neb. Following their marriage, they farmed near Webb. Daisy worked as a bookkeeper and clerk at Penney's in Storm Lake.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond on Dec. 22, 1984; a brother; and a granddaughter.

Daisy is survived by her three daughters: Barbara McDonough of Spencer, Debra Medema and her husband, Paul of Spencer, and Sherry Maurer and her husband, Gail of Sutherland; one son, James and his wife, JoAnn of Rolfe; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
