Richard (Dick) Clark

Richard (Dick) Clark passed away Dec. 31, 2010, at Hospice of Arizona, Sun City West, Ariz.

Dick, the son of Charles O. and Mabel Clark, was born on June 11, 1924, in Linn Grove, Ia. Dick received his early education in Linn Grove and graduated from the Linn Grove High School in 1942.

Dick served in WWII from February 1943 to October 1945, with the 347th Fighter Squadron, 350th Fighter Group, AAF in Italy.

Dick and Dorothy M. Werts were married April 7, 1946, in Gillett Grove, Ia. In 1948, they moved to Spencer.

Dick worked for the Ford Garage in Spencer. In 1954, Dick worked with the Lincoln Mutual Life Insurance Company of Lincoln, Neb. for 35 years.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and four brothers.

Left to honor his memory are his wife of 64 years, Dorothy of Sun City West, Ariz.; his daughter, Suzanne and husband, Rick of Minneapolis, Minn.; son, Alan and wife, Kim of Huntsville, Ala.; and son, Rodney and wife, DeEtta of Minneapolis, Minn.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

His last days were made comfortable by the truly caring representatives of the Hospice of Arizona.

After cremation, the family will gather at Linn Grove next summer for prayer and remembrance.

Memorials may be made in his honor to the Methodist Church in Gillett Grove as Dick and Dorothy are members.
