Interment took place at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer.

Mrs. Ramsey passed away Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at Hospice of Arizona, Sun City.

Marjorie Eileen Ramsey, the daughter of Frances and Anna (Donavan) Sweeney, was born on June 24, 1920, in Sutherland, Ia. She was raised and received her early education there, graduating from Sutherland High School. After high school, she attended beauty school and was self-employed as a cosmetologist for years in Royal, Ia.

Marjorie married Floyd "Flute" Ramsey on Aug. 28, 1944, in Sutherland. They adopted one son, Patrick, in January of 1960.

Her family resided in Royal for many years. Marjorie was an active member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal. She loved to go camping with family and friends, play cards and golf. After she retired from her salon, she helped "Flute" run his petroleum business. Marge moved to Tucson, Ariz. in 1992, where she enjoyed the beautiful weather and being closer to her four grandchildren. Marge spent her last five years with her family in Wittmann, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Anna Sweeney; her husband, 'Flute'; her sister, Catherine Pitcomb; and her brother, Paul Sweeney.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Patrick and his wife, Lynne; four grandchildren: Thomas, Holly, Jack and Jodie -- of the Phoenix area; her sisters: Dorothy Sweeney of LaCrosse Wis., and Florence Ihry of Royal, Ia.; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Sweeney of Hartley, Ia.; and many nieces and nephews.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
