Elden Bigger, 76, of Redwood Falls, Minn., formerly of Ruthven, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, at Redwood Area Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, from St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Burial, with military honors will follow at the Morton City Cemetery, Morton, Minn. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue at the church on Monday for one hour prior to services.

Elden Rae Bigger, the son of Elzie and Eva (Parker) Bigger, was born Sept. 15, 1934, in Ruthven. He was raised on a farm near Spencer, Ia. and graduated from Silver Lake Consolidated School in 1953. On April 12, 1957, Elden married Myrtle Nissen at the First Methodist Church in Ruthven.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Myrtle of Redwood Falls; children: Sandra (Gary) Straumann of Redwood Falls, Sue Alsum of Durango, Colo., Shelly Lemcke of Redwood Falls, and Steve (Tanya) Bigger of Morgan; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother Harlan (Rita) Bigger of Mason City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
