Harry was born on Feb. 18, 1953, in Omaha, Neb. His parents Ervin and Helen Ott raised him in Everly, Iowa. Harry was a graduate of Everly High School. He worked as a counselor at treatment centers for most of his life. Harry was a counselor at the Fountain Center in Eldora when he met his wife Darlene. They were both instrumental in getting that treatment center to be an exclusive center for women.

In 1985, Harry relocated to Grundy Center and on June 14, 1987, he was united in marriage to his wife Darlene at the Wildwood Chapel in the Cascade Mountains in Washington. Harry and Darlene were best friends and loved spending time together. They did everything together and only spent one night of their married life apart. They enjoyed getting in their car and driving and just seeing where the road led them.

Harry was an avid football fan. He loved Brett Favre and would support any team on which he played. He loved to collect sports cards, specifically football cards. He also enjoyed collecting small toy NASCAR cars.

Harry is survived by his wife Darlene; his children, Joshua and Heather; his granddaughter, Valley; his sister-in-law, Donita Beatty; brothers-in-law, Duane Weis, Dale Weis and Dennis Weis; and his beloved cat, Baby Snaps.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Maurice.
