Donald H. Kelly, 85, of Fort Dodge, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Aug. 9, 2010, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge with Rev. David Grindberg officiating.

Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the VFW Post No. 1856 and the Army National Guard.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church.

He was the son of Joe and Emma Kelly of Glenwood, Minn. He graduated from Glenwood High School in 1942. He served in the military as an army sergeant during World War II in the European Theater. After returning home he met his bride of 63 years, Rachel Halvorson. They lived in Glenwood, Minn., where they were blessed with two daughters; Debby Kelly and Elizabeth Kelly Beeghley. In 1968 they moved to Spencer, Iwhere they were blessed with three grandchildren, Michael, Michelle and Stephanie. Their last stop was Fort Dodge, Iwhere Don had a wonderful retirement enjoying family, his grandchildren and his hobbies of wood working and fishing.

Donald is survived by his wife, Rachel; his daughters: Debby Kelly of Odessa, Texas, Elizabeth Kelly Beeghley and her husband, Steve Beeghley of Fort Dodge; three grandchildren: Mike Meyer his wife, Melissa and their son, Izaak; Michelle Beeghley Tjaden and her husband, Nick Tjaden of Chaska, Minn., and Stephanie Beeghley of Fort Dodge.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Donald Kelly; and his parents, Joe and Emma Kelly.

Memorials may be left at the family's discretion.

The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.
