Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Hebbel, 71, of Spencer, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at First Congregational Church in Spencer. Rev. Patti Haaheim will officiate the service.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the services at the church.

Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.

Mrs. Hebbel passed away Friday, July 30, 2010, at Longhouse Residence in Spencer.

Joyce Hebbel, the daughter of Louis and Myrtle (Lichtenberg) Gertsmeier, was born July 14, 1939, in Storm Lake. She was raised on a farm in the Storm Lake area, where she received her education graduating from Storm Lake High School on May 28, 1957. After high school, she worked for Citizens Bank in Storm Lake.

Joyce married Wilbur (Willie) Hebbel on May 27, 1966, in Denver, Colo. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer, where she worked with Willie as co-owners of Midwest Piano and Organ Company. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Spencer. Joyce enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, visiting with friends and going out to eat.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Willie on Jan. 13, 2008.

Left to cherish her memory are her stepson, Larry Geisinger and his wife, Nancy, of Spencer, and their family; a stepson, Norm Hebbel of Arizona; a stepdaughter, Cheri Leister of San Antonio, Texas, and her family; her goddaughter, Megan (Kramer) Sampson, of Urbandale, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
