Adele Mohr, 86, of Brainerd, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2010, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. Adele was born on July 8, 1923 in La Mars, Iowa. Adele was a person who was very dear to many to us. Many appreciated her wit and sense of humor. Adele and her aunt Christine were partners in Mohr Advertising Company. She was always a hard worker and the business took them to all parts of seven states. During the years many men got their first job with them. One of these men was Robert Goranson. This is how she knew Peggy Goranson, her very best friend, and the person who she took to the Covenant Church here in Brainerd.
Adele like to collect things. Her biggest collection was John Deere belt buckles. The other thing she liked to do was to go fishing near Nester Falls, Canada. Camping and being out with nature was what Adele liked. Another area she visited was around Orr, Minn. She caught many large fish and had them mounted. Adele was an avid gardener and she loved flowers. Adele might have been a little hard to get to know but once she knew you she was a friend for life. Adele you will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her aunts, Christine Mohr and Mrs. John Meyer; and her father, Ed Mohr.
She is survived by dear friends Bill and Karen Rademacher and Allen and Betty Prosch and others too many to mention.
Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at Edgewood Vista, 14890 Beaver Dam Road, Brainerd, with Pastor Jon Gehrls officiating.
