Funeral services for Mr. Rick Anderson, 56, of Peterson, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 28, at First Congregational Church in Peterson. Rev. Charles Hall will officiate the service.

Visitation was at 1 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 5-8 p.m. at the Warner Funeral Home in Peterson.

Interment will take place in Oakland Cemetery in Peterson.

Mr. Anderson passed away Monday, May 24, 2010, at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Rick Duane Anderson, the son of Duane and Phyllis Struve Anderson, was born April 27, 1954, in Cherokee. He received his early education and graduated from the Sioux Valley High School in 1973.

On July 31, 1976, Rick married Debra Schultz at the Congregational Church in Peterson. Following their marriage, Rick farmed in the Peterson area and also operated Custom Farming. Rick was a member of the Congregational Church where he was currently serving as moderator and trustee and also had been a youth leader. He also was a member of Pork Producers, Lions Club, Peterson Co-op Elevator board member and served as a 4-H leader. In his spare time, Rick enjoyed fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. Rick enjoyed spending time with his friends but most of all he loved being with his family.

Rick passed away on May 24, 2010, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Leo and Lena Struve and Olin and Josie Anderson; his father-in-law, Alfred Schultz.

He is survived by his wife, Deb of Peterson; children: Tait Anderson and his fiancÚ, Emily Paul of Pierre, S.D., Gage and Kellie Anderson and their son, Reid of Peterson, Bryn Anderson of Marshalltown,and Bree Anderson of Peterson; his parents, Duane and Phyllis Anderson of Peterson; brother, Jon and Janet Anderson of Peterson; sister Cheri and Greg Brown of Peterson; mother-in-law, Doris Schultz of Lone Rock; brothers-in-law, Gary and Sherry Schultz of Ankeny, Tim and Kathy Schultz of Rice Lake, Wis., and Todd and& Deb Schultz of Black Hawk, S.D.; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Warner Funeral Home of Peterson is in charge of arrangements.
