Funeral services for Leona Plautz, 93, of Sutherland, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 22, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland. Rev. LeRoy Riemer will officiate the service.

Interment will take place in North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer.

A fellowship gathering will take place after the interment at First English Lutheran Church in Spencer

Leona passed away Friday, April 16, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Leona Plautz, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Jebsen) Litka, was born March 22, 1917, in Grant Township, Iowa. She was raised and attended country schools in the Sutherland area. After graduating high school, Leona became a dental assistant.

Leona married Arnold Plautz on Dec. 6, 1964, at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland. Leona was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, and enjoyed bowling, watching sports, playing cards, especially 500, gardening, crocheting, spending winters in Arizona, and was a member of the Bethel Helping Hand.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Clara Martin and Rosella Litka; and a brother, Arnold Litka.

Left to cherish her memory are her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Warner Funeral Home of Sutherland is in charge of arrangements.
