Marian Jean Monthei, daughter of Frank and Hazel (Hasty) Scheuermann, was born April 18, 1935, on her mother's birthday. She attended country school and in 1953 graduated from Cooper High School, Cooper, Iowa. On Aug. 22, 1954, she joined in marriage to Daniel Roy Monthei. To this union was born Carla and Kelly.

She would share her bounty with her family and friends.
