A celebration of life will be held for Mrs. "Ellie" Remillard, 79, of Spencer, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, at Warner Chapel in Spencer. Rev. Chuck Kellogg will officiate the service.
Interment will take place in Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, following the lunch at the church.
Mrs. Remillard passed away Friday, April 2, 2010, at home in Spencer.
Eleanor "Ellie" Evelyn Remillard, was born Dec. 20, 1930, in Knox County, Neb., to James and Mamie (Foreman) Frank. She attended country school near her home. After graduating from high school in 1949 at Verdigre, Neb., she worked a few years in Omaha, Neb.
Eleanor moved to Iowa, where she met and married Wayne Remillard on May 16, 1954. She worked for Northwestern Bell for 27 years and later worked at Truck Haven until her retirement. She loved fishing, gardening and most of all spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne in 1979; parents, James and Mamie Frank; sister, Marjorie Krupicka; and brother, Dean Frank.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Loren and his wife, Rhonda of Dickens; granddaughter, Mindi Van Houten and her husband, Justin of Melvin; grandson, Jason and his wife, Angie of Spencer; great-granddaughter, Cienna Van Houten and great-grandson, Elijah Van Houten; other relatives and friends.
Warner Funeral Home in Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
