Services for Mrs. Thelma Wiese, 81 of Golden, Colo., formerly of Spencer and Hartley, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at Warner Chapel in Spencer.

Visitation will take place from 4-9 p.m. Friday with the family present from 5-7 p.m. at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.

Interment will take place in North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer.

Mrs. Wiese passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at St. Anthony Central Hospital in Denver, Colo.

Following the committal service there will be a lunch served at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.

Thelma Weiland Wiese, the daughter of Christopher and Ruth (Vandemark) Weiland, was born Oct. 26, 1928, in Spencer. She grew up on the family farm near Spencer, where she received her education.

Thelma married Amos Wiese on Nov. 17, 1946, in Spencer. Following their marriage, they farmed near Worthington, Minn., for 10 years and then moved back to Iowa and continued to farm. In 1965, they purchased the Coast to Coast Store in Hartley. The couple moved to Golden, Colo., in 1972, where she has resided for the last 38 years. She was employed at Coors Porcelain in Golden for 17 years, until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Wiese on June 18, 1998; and one sister, Martha Weiland.

She is survived by her children: Ronald (Mary) Wiese of McKinney, Texas, Beverly Enger of Longmont, Colo., and Robert (Deb Chapman) Wiese of Greenville; a sister, Marian Pachacki of Stockton, Calif.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
