Services for Aline Georgiana Roskens, 93, of Spencer, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 6, at Hope Reformed Church in Spencer. Pastor Russell Muilenburg will officiate the service.

Interment will be in the First Reformed Church Cemetery in Everly.

Pallbearers will be: Rod Kaiser, Tom Kaiser, Greg Kaiser, Tony Biancalana, George Thiessen and Harold Robinson.

Aline G. Roskens, the daughter of George and Anna (Stille) Kaiser, was born September 7, 1916, in Storm Lake, Iowa. Her early childhood years were spent in the Storm Lake and Schaller area. At the age of 12 her family moved to the Milford area and she graduated from the Okoboji School in rural Milford. On January 1, 1938, Aline married Eite D. Roskens in Milford. Throughout most of their married life they made their home on a farm north of Everly where they farmed. It wasn't until 1987, after 49 years of farming, that Eite and Aline moved to Spencer. Aline was a member of the First Reformed Church near Everly where she served on many committees and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She became a member of the Hope Reformed Church of Spencer after the closing of the First Reformed Church.

Aline moved to Riverview Terrace Assisted Living in Spencer in November 2008, where she made many new friends.

Aline enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Roskens passed away Feb. 2, 2010, at Spencer Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eite; two brothers, Richard and Raymond Kaiser; brother-in-law, Maurice Biancalana; and a granddaughter, Lisa Marie.

She is survived by two sons, Gaylen and Christina Roskens of Sanborn, Iowa, and A. Bruce and Nadine Roskens of Naperville, Ill.; a daughter, Donna and Bill Carlson of Odebolt, Iowa, 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Audrey and Richard Thiessen of Spencer, and Alice and Tom Rebec of Sebring, Fla.; and many other relatives and friends.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
