Marian E. Flemming
Marian E. Flemming was born in Laurens, Iowa, on Aug. 2, 1914, the second child of five to John and Ella Sieh and passed away in Kingwood on Nov. 26, 2009, at the age of 95. Mrs. Flemming earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition from the University of Iowa in 1937 and entered the teaching profession in Lake Park, Iowa. Marian married her beloved Jack Flemming in 1939 and moved to Kansas City, Mo., where they raised their three children and remained until 2006 when she and Jack moved to Kingwood, Texas, where they remained until their passing. She loved to dance and play bridge and their summers were spent on Lake Okoboji in Iowa.
She was preceded in death by two brothers; one sister; and her husband Jack Flemming of 67 years.
Marian is survived by two daughters: Karen Sellin of Shawnee, Kansas, and Diane Chisam of Kingwood, Texas; son, Bob Flemming (Dianne) of Draper, Utah; sister, Kay Coe of Arizona; six grandchildren: Scott Flemming, Jessica Goulding, Wendy Flemming, Laura Parker, Andrea Lackner and Whitaker Chisam; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Flemming's interment will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, in Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake, with Pastor Lon Lewis officiating.
