Private family graveside services for Mrs. Mae Margaret Miller, 91, of Hartley, will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.

There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Miller passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley.

Mae Margaret Miller was born July 23, 1918 in Wing, N.D. to Karl Knowles & Clara (Lutgens) Knowles. Her childhood years were spent in Bismarck, N.D. Her family moved to Spencer in 1928 where she graduating from Spencer High School in 1936. She attended business college in Minneapolis. She worked for an insurance company, an apartment hotel as a bookkeeper and switchboard operator. In Minneapolis, she met and married Robert Miller on April 4, 1946. They moved to Spencer in 1946 and remained there for many years. After Robert's death she moved to Hartley.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, T.T.T Chapter, the Garden Club. She was active with the Sunshine Workers Board and worked as a bookkeeper there for 10 years.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert in 1989; one son, Thomas; two brothers; and one sister.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Brad (Nancy) Miller of Hartley; two grandchildren: Cassi and Dylan.

Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
