Funeral services for Glen Wheeler, 73, of Spencer will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. Rev. Chuck Kellogg will officiate the service.

Visitation with the family present will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.

Interment will take place in Oakland Cemetery in Peterson after a luncheon.

Masonic services will be conducted by Evening Shade Lodge 312 AF and AM at 6 p.m. at Warner Funeral Home on Friday.

Mr. Wheeler passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009.

Glen Wheeler, the son of Charles and Ella (Seeman) Wheeler, was born on Dec. 13, 1935, in Peterson. He was raised and attended school in Peterson graduating from Peterson High School. After graduation, Glen attended Morningside College in Sioux City. He then enlisted in the military, serving in the U.S. Army in 1958. While serving his country he married Shirley Wischmeyer on Dec. 27, 1958, in Sioux Rapids. After his honorable discharge in 1960 Glen was self-employed as a plumber until 1985 when he moved to Colorado and started work for Martz Supply. After retiring in 2001 Glen worked for Rides.

Glen was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 312 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rites, and ABU BEKR Shriners ATV Corp. He enjoyed traveling and camping, parading with the Shriners, gardening, visiting with the passengers of the RIDES bus, but most of all he loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

His father, Charles Wheeler preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley of Spencer; one son, Dennis and his wife, Deb of Sauage, Minn.; and Karla Jespersen of Arvada, Colo.; six grandchildren; his mother, Ella of Spencer; one brother, Gary Joe and his wife, Karen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
