Services for Arnold F. Sindt will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hartley. Rev Tim Hogan will officiate the service.

Organist will be Anne Fell and soloist, Gary Klett.

Pallbearers will be: John Sindt, Greg Sindt, Mark Dean, Ryan Feldt, Jason Johnson and Jacob Schilling.

Honorary pallbearers: Shannon Sindt, Jamie Sindt, Travis Johnson, Tim Johnson, Keith Johnson, Lucas Sindt, Emily Sindt, Jennifer Sindt, RoseMary Sindt, Garrett Sindt and Johanna Schilling,

Interment will take place at Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly.

Arnold F. Sindt, the son of Fredrick Datelif Christian and Emma Marie Hansen Sindt, was born Oct. 16, 1923, in Everly, Ia. He received his early education and graduated from the Everly High School in 1941.

Arnold married Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Norman on Aug. 29, 1945, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Everly. Following their marriage, they farmed the family Century Farm until retiring in 1986. Arnold was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church until it closed and then became a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hartley. In his spare time, Arnold had enjoyed dancing, bowling league, playing cards and most recent, gardening.

On Oct. 31, 2009, Arnold passed away at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Adeline.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of Everly; his children: Norm Sindt and his friend, Jo Poeschel of Everly, Cynthia Feldt (Darwin) of La Vista, Neb., Mary DeJager (Keith) of Yankton, SD, Roland Sindt of Everly, and his friend, Linda Griffin of Spencer, Allen Sindt (Robin) of Royal, Gaylen Sindt and his friend, Shelly Peters of Fostoria, Lisa Johnson (Jay) of Hartley and Lori Schilling (Lee) of Hartley; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Gray of Ft. Worth, Texas; other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are being handled by Warner Funeral Home of Spencer.
