If ever faced with such a life changing event, would you know who to contact?
An End of Life Consortium, for the public, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Spencer Senior Center.
The session will begin with refreshments at 8:15 a.m. The panel discussion will begin at 9 a.m. There will be vendors on hand to visit with throughout the day. A raffle drawing will conclude the event at 11 a.m.
"You never know when a friend or family member will need this information," said Kathy Fueston, Iowa Hospice Care consultant and EOL committee representative. "Having been someone who was not prepared when my father was diagnosed with a terminal illness, I want to make sure others do not have to go through this very helpless feeling."
The program will focus provide experts in the field who will direct attendees on what do to and who to contact if a loved one is given a diagnosis of six months of less to live.
A panel including representatives from Northwest Aging, Warner Funeral Home, Social Security, Seasons Center, Iowa Hospice and Hospice of Northwest Iowa, and Chris Bjornstad-Attorney at Law, will answer questions from participants.
